Eileen’s Charcoal Grill is an elegant Geelong steak restaurant located in an intimate bistro at the historic Sawyers Arms Tavern.

With its steak-forward menu and intimate dining space, Eileen’s embodies the simple, polished flair of classic European bistro dining.

Executive Chef Mario Tambalong has created a menu to transport diners to Continental Europe with some quintessential dishes. Entrée options include steak tartare served with gaufrette, chicken liver parfait and a classic prawn cocktail with Marie Rose sauce. Classic French style sauces and exquisite desserts include tiramisu, profiteroles and crème brulee. 

Main courses include chargrilled seafood and poultry, but the emphasis is unapologetically on offering diners an incredible steak restaurant in Geelong.

Steak Dining

Diners may select premium grass-fed cuts from Southern Ranges or Vintage Beef Company including eye fillet, sirloin, scotch fillet, rib eye and bistecca T-bone. All steaks are served with classic accompaniments including Café de Paris Butter, Bearnaise and Peppercorn and Cognac sauce. Grain fed Wagyu cuts sourced from Queensland are also available. 

Side dishes include duck fat russet potatoes, creme fraiche and chives, classic butter lettuce with vinaigrette and chargrilled mushroom with rosemary and sherry. 

Eileen’s features an extensive collection of premium wines, with over 120 bottles on the list including 30 bottles available by the glass. The list has a great mix of Australian classics and fine European wines and varietals. 

An intriguing list of European cocktails include a French Martini (Vodka, Chambord, pineapple and lime), Champs Elysees (Cognac, Chartreuse, lemon and bitters) as well as the nostalgic Grasshopper (Creme de Menthe, Creme de Cacao, cream). A large list of spirits and whiskeys is also on offer.
